Product Details
An elegant double-flowered Xeranthemum perfect for cutting for use in fresh or dried bouquets. Perfect for cutting. Everlasting flower for drying. RHS Pollinator.
Sow: Apr to Jun
Flowering: Jun to Sep
Sowing Indoors
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds 1 mm deep and lightly cover with a little more compost — light aids germination. Place in the warmth (15–20 °C) and keep moist.
Growing On / Planting Out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2–3 weeks before planting out from early summer onwards. Allow 25 cm between plants.
Sowing Outdoors
Seed can be sown outdoors when soil is warm. Sow thinly and lightly cover with a little soil. Keep soil moist until seedlings emerge. Thin to 25 cm apart and transfer thinnings to other parts of your garden.
Aftercare
Water regularly, especially during warm, dry spells, and feed using a liquid plant food. Deadhead regularly to prolong the flowering period.
