Prescription Medicines

It’s easy to order prescription medications with Direct4Pet in just four simple steps 
  1. Get a prescription from your vet
  2. Select your medication from our website
  3. Upload your prescription or get your vet to email in the prescription to us and confirm your order
  4. We check your order and prescription and dispense accordingly
  5. Although we aim for same day/next day dispatch, please note that prescription medication orders may take up to 5 working days to be dispensed and dispatched

Direct 4 Pet is the internet store of Black Cat Medicines Limited which is registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), our Veterinary Premises Reg. No. is 7398663 which can be verified by calling RCVS on 020 7202 0707. This enables us to supply genuine veterinary medicines, which are exactly the same as the ones you can buy from your local vet. As we an internet only company, we don’t have a practice/surgery where people can bring their pets, so we are not listed in the find a local vet section of the RCVS website.

VMD Registration
Direct 4 Pet / Black Cat Medicines Limited holds a further registration with the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD).  Our VMD Non-Practice Standard Scheme registration number is 2041443. This can be verified by clicking here: https://vmd.defra.gov.uk/register/online-retailers

They are responsible for the regulation of Veterinary Medicines. We are not part of the VMD Accredited Internet Retailers Scheme as our Veterinary Practice registration ensures we operate to the same high standards required of all Veterinary Practices in the UK. The VMD through regular visits, ensure our standards meet those expected of a Veterinary Practice in relation to all Veterinary Medicinal products. We ensure these standards are maintained to the highest level so that genuine medicines are accurately dispensed and sold to all our customers to meet their needs.

Adverse Reactions

Prescribed Drugs and Veterinary Medicines are not without risk and can lead to adverse effects. In the event of an adverse reaction to any veterinary medicine, it should be reported straight away to the Veterinary Medicines Directorate and also should be reported to your vet

Complaints About Veterinary Medicine

If you have a complaint about us regarding veterinary medicines or you are not satisfied with a veterinary medicines purchased, please contact the VMD.

Can I return my Prescription Medication

Our governing bodies the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) prohibit us from accepting returns on prescription products.

Can I return Non-Prescription items
Yes. The items will need to be unused, un-opened and in their original packing and if the error wasn’t at our end you’d have to cover the postage costs.
