Unwins Wallflower Scented Mix Seeds are an essential to add to your spring border. This biennial flower is a long-lasting, highly fragrant variety.
They produce dwarf compacted plants that are to be sown outdoors. Once fully grown they contribute beautifully to a bouquet of mixed flowers.

Sow: Apr to Jul

Sowing
Sow seed in short, shallow, pre-watered rows. Lightly cover with a little soil, and keep soil moist until seedlings emerge. Thin seedlings to around 2 cm apart to allow development.
Transplanting
Transplant young plants to their final positions in late summer or early autumn. Allow 20 cm between plants. When they are around 15 cm high, pinch out the growing tip to encourage bushy growth.
Advice
Wallflowers do not thrive if sown in trays of compost, then planted out to the garden. Best results are always achieved by sowing direct in the soil in ‘nursery rows’, as outlined above.
