Sow Indoors: Feb to Jul
Flowering: May to Jul
Sowing Indoors
Almost fill 12cm pots with seed & cutting compost. Sow five seeds, evenly spaced, per pot and lightly cover with a little more compost. Water well after sowing, but not again until seedlings have emerged. Place in a warm spot, 10–15°C.
Growing On
Keep seedlings in a light position, but shaded from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant individually to 8cm pots of potting compost.
Hardening Off / Planting Out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions 2–3 weeks before planting out, from early summer onwards. Allow 60cm between plants. Everlasting sweet peas climb naturally and require little attention.
Aftercare
Support with canes, netting, or trellis to about 1.8m. Tie stems into the support every week or so as the plants grow. Also ideal for large pots. Feed and water regularly, and pick flowers often to ensure a continuous supply.
