With an autumn and winter harvest you'll have a heavy yield of large, disease-resistant roots with purple tops and a lovely creamy flesh. Tweed has uniform roots ensuring consistent harvests.

Sowing Outdoors
Sow seeds thinly in pre-watered shallow rows and cover with 2 cm of soil. Space rows about 30 cm apart. As seedlings develop, thin gradually to 20 cm apart. Keep soil moist until seedlings are established.
Advice
Swedes grow best in well-dug soil that has not been recently manured. They are hardy and can withstand frost. Lift roots as needed, or harvest all at once and store in dry sand until required.
