Product Details

Unwins Squash Potimarron are a chestnut-type pumpkin. They are Great for baking and roasting.

This French heirloom variety has excellent dark yellow flesh with an excellent flavour. They form fruits of a manageable size at 1.5-2kg.

Sow Indoors: Mar to May
Sow Outdoors: Mar to May
Harvest: Sep to Oct

Sowing Indoors
Sow seeds individually on edge in small pots of moist seed compost, 1.5cm deep. Place in warmth (15–20°C) and cover pots with cling film until seedlings emerge. Grow on under cool, light conditions, avoiding direct sunlight.

Planting Out
Gradually accustom young plants to outdoor conditions over 2–3 weeks before planting out to their cropping position in well-manured soil once danger of frost has passed.

Sowing Outdoors
Water sowing positions well, then sow 2–3 seeds on their edges, 2.5cm deep and close together in a group, with 75cm between groups. After germination, leave only the strongest seedlings in each group.

Advice
Once the fruits begin to swell, feed regularly with a liquid tomato feed and keep well watered.
