Unwins Silene Armeria Rubra is a true splash of vibrant colour in summer with catchfly vivid pink flowers with contrasting greyish foliage.
They are striking especially when grown in larger groups, and suitable for sun or partial shade. They look wonderful planted in large groups for a big impact.

Sowing Outdoors
Sow in trays of pre-watered seed compost and cover lightly. Keep in a cold frame or unheated greenhouse, do not allow to dry out, and allow around three weeks for germination.
Growing On
When large enough to handle, transplant into 8cm pots. Slowly acclimatise to outdoor conditions before planting out after the risk of frost has passed.
Planting Out
Choose a sunny spot in any well-drained soil, where they will provide good ground cover. Plant approximately 30cm apart.
Aftercare
Seeds may be slow to germinate, so please be patient. A period of exposure to colder temperatures will help this process.
