Unwins Salad Leaf Spicy Leaf Mix Seeds grow to become tangy, peppery flavoured leaves that can be sown indoors or outdoors.
This Spicy Leaf Mix is full of flavour and micronutrients, making it ideal for salads and stir fries; sow successive batches for a long harvest.
Sow: March to August
Harvest: May to October
Quick to Grow
Sowing Indoors
Sow thinly, 1 cm deep, in clean trays or modules of firm, pre-watered compost. Place in warmth (10–15 °C) and keep moist at all times.
Planting Out
Once the risk of frost has passed and seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into the required harvest position, spacing 10 cm apart with 30 cm between rows.
Sowing Outdoors
Sow thinly, 1 cm deep, directly in the harvest location. Keep soil moist at all times and thin to about 10 cm apart.
Advice
Keep well watered. Make small sowings every 3 weeks for a continuous supply. Use netting to protect from birds and insects.
