Product Details
A high-yielding dwarf variety with good disease resistance, producing sweetly flavoured, stringless pods.
Sow: March to June
Harvest: June to October
Sow Outdoors
Make a flat-bottomed drill, 5 cm deep and 15 cm wide, and water it well. Sow seeds 5 cm deep and approximately 7.5 cm apart in a zigzag pattern. Backfill with soil and firm gently. Allow about 60 cm between rows.
Support
As the peas grow, support them with netting or pea sticks.
Aftercare
Young shoots are attractive to birds; place small twigs over the row for protection. Keep soil around the base well watered but avoid wetting leaves. Sow regularly for a continuous crop.
Advice
For an earlier start, sow seeds indoors in late winter and plant out when about 20 cm tall and acclimatised to outdoor conditions. For early outdoor sowings, warm the soil under a cloche or polythene if necessary. Pick pods regularly to encourage continuous production.
