Unwins Ornamental Grass Pennisetum Alopecuroides Viridescens Seeds produce a Chinese fountain grass. Also known as Dwarf purple fountain grass.
You'll get clumps of green leaves, that turn yellow and orange in autumn. This variety provides a long season of interest for this winter hardy grass which is also suitable for cutting.

Sowing
Sow in trays of pre-watered seed compost and cover lightly. Keep in a cold frame or unheated greenhouse, do not allow to dry out, and allow 2–3 weeks for germination.
Growing On
When large enough to handle, transplant into 12 cm pots using a well-draining compost, ideally with added grit. Slowly acclimatise to outdoor conditions before planting out after frosts.

Choose a sunny spot in any well-drained soil. Plant approximately 50 cm apart. Alternatively, plant in a large container using good quality compost, ensuring free drainage. Feed annually in spring. Equally suited to large pots, mixed borders, and larger scale planting.
