Product Details

Nature's Haven Lavender Munstead Strain Seeds are highly attractive to bees. Their flowers can be cut and dried for a beautiful arrangement.

Lavender Munstead has wonderfully fragrant flower spikes and are a traditional and reliable garden favourite.

  • RHS Pollinator
  • Good for cutting
  • Prefers full sun
Sow: February to July
Flowering: July to September

Sowing
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface and lightly cover them with a little more compost. Place in the warmth, 15–20 °C, and keep moist. Higher temperatures may inhibit germination.

Growing On
Keep seedlings in a light position but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5 cm apart into trays of potting compost. Alternatively, transplant individually into 8 cm pots.

Hardening Off / Planting Out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2–3 weeks before planting when the risk of frost has passed. Allow 45 cm between plants. Water well until established.

Aftercare
Trim back after flowering to maintain a compact habit.

Advice
Early sowings will flower for the first time in the same year as sowing.

Tip
Lavender flowers and foliage can be used in salads, or flowers can be candied and used to flavour jams.
