Unwins Lupin Russell Mixed Seeds grow into beautiful imposing flower spikes providing an early mix of summer colour.
Popular since their introduction in the 1930s, these Lupins are a hardy perennial of tightly packed flowers. They will be sure to create an impactful display of height and colour to any sunny garden border.

Sow: February to July
Sowing
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface and lightly cover them with a little more compost. Place in the warmth, 10–15 °C, and keep moist.
Growing On
Keep seedlings in a light position but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5 cm apart into trays of potting compost. Alternatively, transplant individually into 8 cm pots of potting compost.
Hardening Off / Planting Out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2–3 weeks before planting out when the danger of frost has passed. Allow 60 cm between plants.
Aftercare
Plants may require some support with stakes. Remove flower spikes before they set seed; this may encourage a second flush of blooms.
Advice
Early sowings will usually produce plants that flower in the same and following years. Later sowings will flower for the first time the following summer.

Toxic to pets; harmful if eaten by humans.
