Unwins Loose Lettuce Lollo Rossa Seeds produce attractive purple frilly lettuce leaves, with a semi-crisp texture. Sow outdoors between March and July and harvest from May to September.
An attractive variety with red and green frilled leaves and a crisp, peppery flavour. Adds vibrant colour and texture to any salad.

Quick to Grow
Sowing (indoors/propagator)
Sow thinly, 1 cm deep, in clean trays or modules of firm, pre-watered compost. Place in warmth (10–15 °C) and keep moist at all times.
Planting Out
After the risk of frost has passed, plant into the final harvest position, spacing 25 cm apart with 30 cm between rows when plants have 3–4 true leaves.
Sowing Outdoors
Sow thinly, 1 cm deep, in the desired harvest location. Keep soil moist and thin to 25 cm apart.
Advice
Keep well watered. Make small sowings every 3 weeks for a continuous harvest. Use netting to protect against birds and insects.
