Unwins Crisphead Lettuce Robinson Seeds will give you a succulent Iceberg-type of lettuce. With crisp and crunchy leaves its perfect for salads and sandwiches.
A crisp, crunchy Iceberg-type lettuce with excellent disease resistance and strong roots. Robinson performs well in most growing conditions and resists bolting in warmer weather.
Sow: March to July
Harvest: May to September
Sowing (indoors/propagator)
Sow thinly, 1 cm deep, in clean trays or modules of firm, pre-watered compost. Place in warmth (10–15 °C) and keep moist at all times.
Planting Out
After the risk of frost has passed, plant into the required harvest position, spacing 25 cm apart with 30 cm between rows, when plants have 3–4 true leaves.
Sowing Outdoors
Sow thinly, 1 cm deep, in the final harvest location. Keep soil moist and thin seedlings to 25 cm apart.
Advice
Keep well watered. Make small sowings every 3 weeks for a continuous harvest. Use netting to protect against birds and insects.
