Unwins Batavia Lettuce Caipira Seeds compact lettuces with open growth. These lettuces can be sown indoors or outdoor.
This variety have a refreshing flavour and can be used as salad leaves or as whole head lettuces. Small sowings made every 3 weeks during the summer will give you a continuous supply of lettuces.

Sowing
Sow thinly 1 cm deep in trays or modules of firm, pre-watered compost and cover lightly if desired. Place in a warm spot at 10–15 °C and keep moist at all times.
Growing On / Planting Out
After the risk of frost has passed, plant seedlings into the harvest position 25 cm apart, with 30 cm between rows, when plants have 3–4 true leaves. Alternatively, sow thinly 1 cm deep directly in the harvest location. Keep soil moist and thin to 25 cm apart.

Keep well watered. Small sowings every 3 weeks will ensure a continuous supply. Use netting to protect from birds and insects. Use as salad leaves or grow as a whole head.
