Unwins Lettuce All Season Collection Pack Seeds give you a reliable supply of delicious salad leaves.
This attractive mix of red and green frilled leaves can be sown in the spring/summer and harvested just before serving in a fresh salad.
Varieties included:
Harvest: April to September
Sowing Indoors
Sow thinly 1 cm deep in trays or modules of firm, pre-watered compost and cover lightly if desired. Place in a warm spot at 10–15 °C and keep moist at all times.
Planting Out
After the risk of frost has passed, plant seedlings into the harvest position 25 cm apart, with 30 cm between rows, when plants have 3–4 true leaves.
Sowing Outdoors
Sow thinly 1 cm deep directly in the harvest location. Keep soil moist at all times and thin seedlings to 25 cm apart.
Advice
Keep well watered. Small sowings every 3 weeks will ensure a continuous supply. Use netting to protect from birds and insects.
