Unwins Lavender Ellagance Ice Seeds produce branched, bushy and uniform plants. A compact variety that's highly scented with flowers that bloom for long periods.
Ideal for sunny patios and borders. This modern variety of 'English' Lavender is also ideal for hedging. Ellagance has aromatic foliage and beautifully fragrant flower spikes. Lavender is a natural insect repellent, especially for ants, so can be very useful for gardeners looking to repel ants from their garden!

Sow: February to August
Flowering: June to September
Sowing
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface and lightly cover them with a little more compost. Alternatively, sow seeds in a module tray. Place in the warmth, 15–20 °C, and keep moist.
Growing On
Keep seedlings in a light position but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5 cm apart into trays of potting compost. Alternatively, transplant individually into 8 cm pots.
Hardening Off / Planting Out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2–3 weeks before planting out from early summer onwards. Allow 35 cm between plants.
Aftercare
Trim back after flowering to maintain a compact habit.
Advice
Early sowings will flower for the first time in the same year as sowing. Lavender flowers can be used in salads or candied and used to flavour jams.
