Unwins Lavender Bandera Purple have a compact habit. It's perfect for a sunny container, with it's dark purple flowerheads. They are topped with distinctive feathery violet wings (bracts), and fragrant silver-green foliage.
Certainly an eye-catching variety as well as being RHS Pollinator. A wonderful variety of lavender for summer. Lavender is a natural insect repellent, especially for ants, so can be very useful for gardeners looking to repel ants from their garden!

Sow: February to August
Flowering: June to September
Sowing
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface and lightly cover them with a little more compost. Alternatively, sow seeds in a module tray. Place in the warmth, 15–20 °C, and keep moist.
Growing On
Keep seedlings in a light position but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5 cm apart into trays of potting compost. Alternatively, transplant individually into 8 cm pots.
Hardening Off / Planting Out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2–3 weeks before planting out from early summer onwards. Allow 35 cm between plants.
Aftercare
Trim back after flowering to maintain a compact habit.
Advice
Early sowings will flower for the first time in the same year as sowing.
