Unwins Marjoram Sweet Seeds produce an essential culinary herb that is especially useful in Mediterranean recipes.
Marjoram is similar to Oregano but with a more delicate flavour and generally used fresh. It is ideal for sowing in pots indoors.

Sowing
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds evenly spaced over the surface. Place in the warmth (15–20°C) and keep moist.
Growing On
Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant to 8 cm pots, allowing 3 to 4 seedlings per pot.
Hardening Off/Planting Out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2–3 weeks before planting out when the danger of frost has passed. Choose a sunny, sheltered spot with well-drained soil and allow 30 cm between plants. Alternatively, Marjoram is ideal for growing in pots.
Aftercare
Water well until established and during warm, dry spells. Pick regularly to encourage further growth and remove spent flower stems.
