Product Details
Unwins Basil Thai Seeds produce unique, liqourice-flavoured leaves that are perfect for growing in pots, indoor or outdoor.
This herb will also flourish in sunny garden borders. Once harvested, add to your favourite South-East Asian dishes.
Sow: February to July
Harvest: June to September
Sowing
Seeds can be sown any time of year, with February to July being the optimum period. Sow in 8cm pots of firm, pre-watered compost, lightly covering with compost or vermiculite. Cover with cling film and maintain a temperature of around 15°C. Once seedlings emerge, remove the cling film and place on a sunny windowsill. Keep compost damp but not waterlogged.
Planting Out
Gradually acclimatise seedlings to outdoor conditions in late spring and summer. For container growth, use a pot at least 20cm in diameter.
Aftercare
Harvest tips regularly and remove flowers as needed. Avoid leaving plants wet overnight — morning watering is best.
