- Winter harvest
Sow: Mar to May
Harvest: Oct to Jan
Sowing Instructions
Sow seeds thinly in pre-watered shallow rows and cover lightly with soil. Allow about 30 cm between rows.
Growing On / Thinning
As seedlings develop, thin gradually to about 15 cm apart. Keep soil moist until seedlings are established.
Aftercare / Harvest
Roots can be left in the ground until required. Hamburg parsley is best left to mature rather than harvesting young, small roots. Cover with straw to prevent freezing in winter.
Advice
Both roots and leaves are edible. The tops can be used like parsley, and mature roots can replace parsnips in recipes.
