Unwins Dolichos Lablab Seeds, commonly known as Hyacinth Beans, produce half-hardy annual attractive flowers.
These plants are climbers, so are ideal for growing up fences. A highly fragrant flower with a deep green and purple foliage.

Sow: March to May
Flowering: July to October
Sowing
Soak seeds for 12 hours in water prior to sowing. Level fill a module tray with seed compost, firming with the base of another tray. Water well with a fine rose. Push seeds individually into the compost approximately 2 cm deep. Place in a propagator at 20–25 °C or cover the tray with cling film and leave in a warm room.
Growing On
When shoots appear, remove cling film. Keep seedlings in a light position but shaded from direct sunlight, with compost kept moist to the touch. Grow on at a minimum temperature of 10 °C.
Hardening Off / Planting Out
Gradually acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions over 2–3 weeks before planting out once the risk of frost has passed. Allow 30 cm between plants. Water well until established. Also suitable for large pots on a conservatory or sheltered patio.

Erect a wigwam of canes before planting.
Aftercare
Remove spent flower heads before the beans set to prolong the flowering period.
