Delphinium Hunky Dory Blue F1

Unwins Delphinium Hunky Dory Blue F1 Seeds are a vigorous, free-flowering variety in a beautiful shade of blue.

With a compact growing habit, these flowers are perfect for sunny borders and pots. They bloom from June to August, giving you a summer-long burst of colour.

Sowing
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface, and lightly cover with vermiculite or a little more compost. Place in a warm position, 15–20 °C, and keep moist. Keep in a light position but away from direct sunlight.

Growing On
When large enough to handle, transplant individual seedlings into 8 cm pots. Slowly acclimatise to outdoor conditions for 2–3 weeks before planting out once the danger of frost has passed.

Planting Out
Plant in a sunny, sheltered spot in well-drained, fertile soil. Allow 30 cm between plants. Alternatively, plant in a patio pot using good-quality compost. Keep well-watered, especially during warm, dry spells.

Advice
Delphiniums prefer a sunny, sheltered location in fertile, well-drained soil. Water and feed well in spring and early summer. Staking is recommended to support tall growth. Remove spent flower spikes to encourage a second flowering later in the season. Earlier sowings will flower the same year; later sowings the following year.
