Unwins Dahlia Unwins Dwarf Hybrids Seeds produce half-hardy annual dahlias that have an upright, bushy habit.
These semi-double blooms come in an assortment of colours, bringing a burst of sunshine into your garden.
Garden favourites, dahlias are popular especially because they keep the show going from mid-summer until early autumn as many other flowers are fading.

- Bushy and free flowering
- Bred by Unwins
Sow: February to April
Flowering: July to October
Sowing
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface, and lightly cover with a little more compost. Place in a warm position, 15–20 °C, and keep moist.
Growing On
Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5 cm apart into trays of potting compost.
Hardening Off/Planting Out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2–3 weeks before planting out when danger of frost has passed. Allow 30 cm between plants.
Aftercare
Dahlias can be prone to botrytis on foliage, so remove lower leaves regularly as required. Deadhead regularly to prolong blooming. Lift plants at the end of the season and allow them to go dormant indoors before replanting the following spring.
