Product Details
Fleuroselect Gold Medal-winning dahlias with stunning red flowers contrasting against dark foliage. Produces a mix of double and single blooms on branched plants, perfect for pots, bedding, and cut flowers. Excellent for pollinators.
Sow: February to May
Flowering: July to October
Sowing
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface, and lightly cover with a little more compost. Place in a warm position, 15–20 °C, and keep moist.
Growing On
Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5 cm apart into trays of potting compost.
Hardening Off/Planting Out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2–3 weeks before planting out when danger of frost has passed. Allow 45 cm between plants.
Aftercare
Dahlias can be prone to botrytis on foliage, so remove lower leaves regularly as required. Deadhead regularly to prolong blooming.
