Unwins Cucumber Burpless F1 Seeds produce a thin-skinned, easily digestible cucumber! It is resistant to mildew and will trail or scramble up supports.
This is an all-female variety of cucumber, and are an F1 hybrid, producing cucumbers of high quality. This variety has been bred to be easy on the digestion, hence the name 'Burpless'!
Sow: Apr to May
Harvest: Jul to Sep
Sowing Indoors
Level fill a module tray with seed compost, firming with the base of another tray. Water well. Sow seeds individually on edge, pushing 1–2 cm into the compost. Place in warmth (20–25 °C) and cover with cling film. Keep moist.
Growing On
Remove cling film as soon as shoots appear. Keep seedlings in a light position, shaded from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant into 8 cm pots of potting compost. Grow on in a minimum temperature of 12–15 °C.
Planting Outdoors
Gradually accustom young plants to outdoor conditions over 2–3 weeks before planting in their cropping positions once risk of frost has passed. Allow 90 cm between plants. Water and feed well to promote fruiting. Remove any male flowers (those without a swelling behind them) as soon as they appear.

May also be direct-sown outdoors in late May/early June.
