Product Details

Unwins Coleus Warpaint Seeds produce impressive plants in striking colours and patterns for indoors or conservatories.

Grown for their varied foliage markings and colours, Coleus are suitable for either a conservatory or windowsill, or as bedding or container plants in a sunny, sheltered spot.

This half-hardy annual is perfect for pots and will add bursts of reds, greens and yellows to your garden!

  • Perfect for pots and containers
  • Prefers part shade
Sow: February to April
Flowering: May to September

Sowing
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface and very lightly cover with vermiculite or a little more compost. Place in warmth, 20–25 °C, and keep moist.

Growing On
Keep seedlings in a bright position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5 cm apart into trays of potting compost.

Hardening Off / Planting Out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2–3 weeks before planting out once the danger of frost has passed. Allow 25 cm between plants. Alternatively, plant in patio pots using good-quality compost, either individually or in mixed plantings.

Aftercare / Advice
Pinch out flowering stems as they appear to maintain a neat, bushy shape. Keep well watered and protected from strong midday sun.
