Unwins Clary Claryssima Seeds are a cottage garden favourite. These seeds produce hardy annual flowers with a long-lasting summer colour.
The strong, clear colours of these flowers look very attractive in summer borders and when cut, look beautiful in a mixed bouquet.

Sow: February to May
Flowering: June to September
Sowing Indoors
For earlier flowering, sturdier plants, sow in trays of moist seed compost in February or March in gentle warmth, 10–15 °C. Transplant 5 cm apart into other trays of compost when seedlings are large enough to handle. Gradually accustom to cooler conditions before planting out from April onwards.
Sowing Outdoors
Rake soil to provide a firm, even surface. Sow seeds thinly in pre-watered soil, lightly covering them with a little more soil. Sowings made in semi-circular lines create a natural ‘drift’ effect. Keep moist until seedlings appear and water as required in dry spells.
Aftercare / Advice
Scented foliage can be cut and used in dried flower arrangements. Keep well-watered in dry periods to encourage strong, long-stemmed blooms.
