Unwins Carrot Nantes 2 Seeds are an ideal early harvest variety. Producing tender carrots with a sweet flavour, these can be harvested as early as May.
The long cylindrical roots are quick to grow with an excellent colour and flavour over several months from early summer. The fast-maturing carrots have uniform growth and stand well in the ground. Enjoy these boiled, steamed, roasted or grated in salads.

Sowing Outdoors
Sow thinly, 1 cm deep, in shallow, pre-watered drills in soil that hasn’t been manured in the last 12 months. Keep soil moist at all times. Protect early sowings with cloche or fleece.
Thinning
Thin seedlings to 5–8 cm apart. Avoid crushing the leaves, as their scent attracts carrot root fly.
Aftercare
Carrots do best on light, stone-free, fertile soils. Use fleece to protect against low-flying carrot root fly. Roots store well if cleaned and packed in boxes of dry sand or compost.
