Unwins Carnation Early Flowering Mix Seeds produce hardy perennial flowers with tall, strong stems.
These carnations come in a mix of beautiful of pinks, reds and yellows with an attractive fragrance. They look lovely in pots and borders, and are ideal for cutting and arranging into a vase.

Sow: January to March
Flowering: May to July
Sowing
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface and lightly cover with a little more compost. Place in warmth, 15–20 °C, and keep moist
Growing On
Keep seedlings in a light position but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5 cm apart into trays of potting compost, or individually into 8 cm pots.
Hardening Off / Planting Out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2–3 weeks before planting out once the risk of frost has passed. Allow 30 cm between plants.
Aftercare / Advice
Water regularly and feed during active growth. Removing spent blooms will prolong flowering and maintain healthy, compact plants.
