Sow: April to July
Flowering: May to July (following year)

Sowing
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface and lightly cover with a little more compost. Place in warmth, 10–15 °C, and keep moist.

Growing On
Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5 cm apart into trays of potting compost.

Hardening Off / Planting Out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2–3 weeks before planting out during autumn. Young plants will then establish before the onset of winter. Allow 30 cm between plants.

Aftercare / Advice
Plants sown this year will flower the following year. Remove spent flowers to encourage a second flush later in the season.
