Unwins Alpine Saxifraga Floral Carpet Seeds produce masses of bright spring flowers from May to June.
Ideal for rockeries, this alpine will spread to produce a light pink floral carpet with evergreen foliage, brilliant for adding contrast to mixed plantings.

Sow: March to June / August to September
Flowering: April to June
Sowing
Sow on the surface of pre-watered seed compost in pots or trays, lightly pressing the seeds into the surface. Place in a propagator or loosely covered bag at around 20 °C in shade and allow 2–4 weeks for germination. After germination, remove the cover and move seedlings to cooler, brighter conditions. If germination is poor after a few weeks, keep the seeds cold (around 4 °C) for 4 weeks, then return them to warmth.
Growing On
Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle. Grow on in a sheltered spot outdoors, such as a cold frame or unheated greenhouse.
Planting Out
Plant out in full sun or part shade, in well-drained soil. Also suitable for containers, raised beds, or rockeries.
Aftercare / Advice
Remove faded flowers during summer to prolong blooming. Add grit to improve drainage where necessary. Late summer sowings will flower earlier and more profusely the following year.
